thAye (ennathavam) Meaning:
What was the great penance you have done, Oh, Yasoda, to be so fortunate as to
be addressed lovingly as "Mother" by the Parabrahma himself ? What were the powerful
observances you have undertaken, Oh, Yasoda, to be so blessed as to enable you
to lift up the Almighty Krishna, the One who created the fourteen worlds, in your
arms, to rock him to sleep with lullabies and to breast-feed him ? What were the
solemn rites you have undertaken, Oh, Yasoda, to be so propitious as to achieve
effortlessly, which great sages like Sanaka could not achieve even after years
of rigourous penance, constant prayers and yogic practices ? What was the prodigious
penance you have undertaken, Oh, Yasoda, for having got the opportunity to even
tie the Lord, Krishna to a pounding stone so as to make him beg for your forgiveness
and become a source of envy to Brahma, Indra and other celestials ?
